Dear all, I hope you are all doing well. As you know the NORDunet conference is well underway and I look forward to meeting you there. In addition to two T&I sessions that are in the programme, I have requested a slot for a closed meeting to discuss T&I strategies with the Nordic NRENs. I will send an ‘official’ invite to all of you directly so you can appoint 2-4 people per NREN to talk about your national strategy as well as international aspect. I also would like to schedule a getting together before the summer holidays. I was thinking to have such a call the week after starting with June 17th. How does this week look like for you all? AARC TREE projects starts today

Dear all, The AARC TREE Project starts today. For the next two years, the AARC Technical Revision to Enhance Effectiveness (AARC TREE) project will continue the work on the successful and globally recognised “Authentication and Authorisation for Research Collaboration” (AARC) model and its flagship outcome, the AARC Blueprint Architecture (BPA), as the basis to drive the next phase of integration for research infrastructures. This in practice means: (i) expanding federated access management to integrate user-centring technologies by capturing and analysing new Authentication and Authorisation interoperability requirements (as emerging that support integration use-cases across the thematic area) and provide a landscape analysis of AAIs services (including gaps) in the RIs represented in AARC TREE (ii) Defining and validating new technical and policy guidelines for the AARC BPA that address Research Infrastructures (RIs) use-cases. This will improve the integration of RIs across thematic areas and increase the ability of RIs to support emerging needs (iii) Expanding the number of research communities that can implement the AARC BPA and/or the AARC guidelines, by providing a validation environment and toolkits. At the same time support existing AARC communities in adopting new guidelines. (iv) Bringing RIs, e-Infrastructures and relevant stakeholders together to align strategies to integrate new technologies, The AARC Kick off meeting will take place on the 11-13 of March hosted by SURF (Utrecht, the Netherlands): https://events.geant.org/event/1601/ If you are interested in joining you are more than welcome. Dear all, As anticipated, I have consulted with Marina to organise a call to discuss the requirements and needs for the T&I WP in the GN5-2 project (which will start next year). The call for manpower will be out in February so it would be nice to give you a bit of time to discuss things. Given Marina’s availability and other events that take place, the proposed date is Feb 9th 10am CET. We will record Marina’s presentation and we will share the slides; we can plan another call in February if needed. Reminder Northern T&I Call tomorrow

Dear all, Our first call is quickly approaching. Tomorrow we will meet at 10 am CET Time, via zoom: https://nordunet.zoom.us/j/62464449302 You should have received an invite in your calendar already. Given that we have only 1 hour the call will focus on two main areas: - GN5-2 preparation has started and that is the good moment to think how/if the Nordic organisations would like to get involved in the T&I activities. Marina Adomeit (SUNET) as relevant WP co-lead will provide an overview of the upcoming deadlines. - Other T&I initiatives that have both a national and an international dimension: a quick update on the student mobility, EOSC (wrt to the AAI) and EuroHPC (wrt to the AAI). Dear all, Many thanks for joining the Northern T&I list :) As anticipated, we would like to start a more systematic exchange of information in the area of Trust and Identity. The aim is on one hand to share information about initiates and projects in Europe primarily (but not exclusively), and on the other hand to hear what your national priorities are and if we can join forces. The first call will be on Dec 19 at 10 CET at 10 CET. I appreciate that not everybody may be able to make it, for the future I will suggest some slots so we can choose a most favourable one. The proposed agenda is as follows: - Reflection on the GÈANT T&I CTO Strategy workshop that took place on the 15th of Nov: many of you attended the event. Dear all, Many thanks for joining the NCW and attending or expressing your interest in the T&I sessions. After speaking to several of you during the workshop, I came to the conclusion that it would be nice to have a period call among the nordics (but external experts are welcome too) to share what everybody is doing and to report on relevant initiatives both at national level as well as at international level. The idea would be to have a few calls per year, for example 3, where we can share identity related information, and given the different initiatives all of us are following I’m sure we will not be short of topics. We can use the NDN wiki to collect any material that people want to share, and anybody is welcome to speak (also without slides!). To that end I have created a mailing list called identity-talks, but I have not subscribed anybody.
